Sony confirms Alien Isolation 2, God of War Ragnarok PS5 Pro enhancements, Until Dawn PS5 remake issues, and more PlayStation news.
Sony has just confirmed significant updates for PlayStation fans—especially with big announcements related to Alien Isolation 2 and enhancements for God of War Ragnarok.
God of War Ragnarok Gets PS5 Pro Enhancements
Santa Monica Studio’s God of War Ragnarok will officially be PS5 Pro enhanced, as reported by PlayStation Lifestyle. Although neither Sony Interactive Entertainment nor Santa Monica Studio have made an official statement, the PS5 Pro enhancement tag has appeared on the game’s PlayStation Store page.
While no specific details have been shared regarding what “PS5 Pro enhanced” will mean for the game, comparisons can be drawn from the PC version of God of War Ragnarok. PC players have access to 4K resolution and unlocked frame rates—along with enhanced screen space reflections, lighting, and shadows—which might suggest similar enhancements for PS5 Pro players. Also, PS5 Pro may feature upscaling technologies like Nvidia RTX DLSS, AMD FSR 3.1, and Intel XS 1.2, as seen on the PC version.
This news comes as a relief to some fans, as God of War was absent from the original list of PS5 Pro games during Sony’s reveal, causing some concern that it might not receive the expected upgrades.
Alien Isolation 2 Officially Announced by Creative Assembly
Fans of the survival horror genre were taken by surprise with an official announcement of Alien Isolation 2 from Creative Assembly, a decade after the original game’s launch on PS3 and PS4. The sequel is said to be in the very early stages of development, which speculates it will perhaps be a cross-gen release.
Alien Isolation was released way back in 2014 but received very positive reviews. But with time, hopes for a sequel seem to be dying down. But within the statement, as the game turns 10, Creative Assembly acknowledged fan demands when they said, "We have heard your distress calls loud and clear." They promised more updates as development continues.
A long way for players to catch a glimpse at Alien Isolation 2 delivery. Its announcement is still exciting news for fans who have been longing for the continuation of this product so much.
Until Dawn PS5 Remake Suffers Technical Issues
The remake of Until Dawn for PS5, developed by Ballistic Moon, has faced several technical issues since launch, according to a new analysis from Digital Foundry. Problems include significant frame pacing issues, stuttering cutscenes, and inconsistent internal resolution between 1440p and 1728p.
Perhaps most notably, Until Dawn on PS5 lacks a 60fps performance mode—an unusual choice given Sony’s history of delivering a 60fps option for first-party games on PS5. Fans have expressed frustration on social media, and Ballistic Moon has responded by requesting players report any technical issues to its support email.
Sony’s decision to partner with Ballistic Moon for the remake is now being called into question, particularly given recent reports of layoffs at the studio and its struggles with the Unreal Engine 5 port.
Sony Begins Selling Refurbished PS5 Consoles

Prices for the refurbished launch PS5 disc and digital models are set at $399 and $349, respectively, while refurbished DualSense controllers start at $60.
Sony ensured that all refurbished products undergo strict testing to meet the standards of new consoles. For those interested in a more budget-friendly upgrade, refurbished PS5s offer a great entry point.
Little Big Planet 3 and DLC to be Delisted
They have also now announced that Little Big Planet 3, plus its DLC, will be removed from the PlayStation Store on October 31, 2024. Players who already have a copy of the game, along with any DLCs for it, will still be able to access those games after delisting; however, further purchases will not be able to be made.
This decision came after several setbacks of Little Big Planet, The latest issue involves ongoing problems with the game being hacked, affecting its online features. Fans will have up to the end of October to buy their digital copies before it is too late.
