2025 looks to be a fantastic gaming year, with several titles in the making and almost ready to blow the minds of gamers throughout the globe. In fact, 2024 has had its own share of it for gamers like Black Myth, Kang Pal World, and Space Marine Two, but what really got everyone hyped was about to come. Here are 13 of the most awaited games in 2025.
1. Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
This action RPG picks up the story of Henry, a blacksmith in 15th-century Bosnia, during a civil war. Set for release on February 11, the game will feature large-scale battles and offer an immersive medieval experience that doubles the size of its predecessor.
2. Marvel's Captain America and Black Panther
Set in Occupied Paris, players will control four characters: Steve Rogers (Captain America), King Azuri (Black Panther), Gabriel Jonas (Howling Commandos), and Nali (leader of the Vandal Spy Network). The game promises a unique mix of historical settings with Marvel superheroes.
3. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater
A remake of the classic Metal Gear Solid 3, the game takes use of Unreal Engine 5 to craft beautiful visuals and even high-performance functions. The covert missions will be played as those of Naked Snake in the Cold War era, retaining the original storyline.
4. Mafia IV
This prequel to the original Mafia game will take players through 1990s Sicily where they have to survive in the underworld. Mafia IV, with a story-driven experience and an immersive open world, shall be released in the second quarter of 2025.
5. Ghost of Yute
This is the standalone sequel to Ghost of Tsushima and is set in 1603 in Japan. The game confines the new gameplay features with firearms, retaining the stealth and action mechanics that everyone loved in the first game. Vengeance and personal choices will form the strong themes of this installment.
6. Death Stranding 2
Directed by Hideo Kojima, Death Stranding 2 brings back beloved characters and has been updated to reflect the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Expect the same cinematic experience, now with new gameplay modes and an even richer story.
7. Monster Hunter Wilds
The successor to 2018's Monster Hunter World, this action RPG has players tracking, capturing, or killing massive monsters in mysterious lands. Monster parts will be used to craft new gear, providing an ever-evolving gameplay experience.
8. Fable
After the closure of Lionhead Studios, development on Fable was paused, but the game is making a comeback. Playground Games returns to the fantasy world, which one loved so dearly. Here you'll find the most detailed and in-depth environment. It is expected to be released on Xbox in 2025 but, the release date on Steam is still unannounced.
9. Little Nightmares III
This time, Little Nightmares introduces something it lacked in previous games: co-op play. So, players will be exploring terrifying environments, solving puzzles, and facing off against dangerous enemies as they try to survive in this very twisted world.
10. Metroid Prime Beyond
It's supposed to be a mix of platforming and exploration in a sci-fi world—this is the most promising next game in the Metroid series. Not too much is known, but fans are holding onto what is seemingly going to be a more ambitious and exciting entry than previous games in the series.
11. Doom: Realms of Argent D'Nur
This new Doom will be set in a medieval-style fantasy world that continues to explore the background of the Doom Slayer and his conflicts with the Night Sentinels. Expect it to deliver high-intensity action as revealed so far from all their previous productions and perhaps some new mythology to expand this Doom universe.
12. W2SO: Survival
A cinematic platformer based on horror through the account of a brother and sister trying to escape their house that's beginning to mutate into a brutal, nightmarish torment. Players will have to work together in co-op as they navigate a series of frightening challenges by solving environmental puzzles.
13. GTA VI
Perhaps the most eagerly awaited title of the year, at least in the eyes of the followers of the GTA, Grand Theft Auto VI needs no other introduction. It was years of speculation that finally came to an end with the confirmation of its 2025 release by Rockstar Games, promising to once again shake up the industry and the trailer has also been released.
